Why This Program Works

Our children summer program emphasizes learning through real, hands-on experiences rather than traditional worksheets. With a small group setting, we provide personalized support for every child. Our hands-on learning activities are designed to engage students while building confidence, independence, and essential real-life skills. This program is led by a certified teacher with over 20 years of experience.

Colorful weekly homeschooling schedule focused on self-identity and expression for kids.

Week 1: All About Me

Confidence • Identity • Goal Setting

Week 1 of our children summer program is a meaningful and engaging start designed to help children explore who they are while building confidence in a warm, home-like environment.

Throughout the week, students will create a personal silhouette self-portrait—a special project that represents their interests, strengths, experiences, and dreams. This project grows each day and becomes a keepsake families truly love.

In addition, students will design their own Summer Dream Board, where they will set goals across areas like learning, creativity, health, kindness, and personal growth. Through hands-on learning activities like cut-and-paste, children will think intentionally about what they want to learn, try, and accomplish this summer.

✨ What Your Child Will Experience

- Building confidence through self-expression

- Sharing personal stories in a supportive small group

- Exploring early math skills through measuring and graphing

- Creating meaningful art projects connected to identity

- Setting realistic and exciting summer goals

- Practicing speaking, listening, and reflection

💛 Why This Week Matters

When children understand who they are, they become more confident learners. This week helps each child feel seen, valued, and proud of themselves, setting the tone for a positive and successful summer.

Weekly schedule for home and life skills activities from June 22-26, 2026.

Week 2: Home & Life Skills

This week is all about building independence, responsibility, and real-life confidence in a warm, home-based environment.

At Thinking Lab Learning, we believe that hands-on learning is essential for children. Throughout our children summer program, students will engage in practical experiences that teach life skills they can use every day—while having fun and feeling proud of what they can accomplish on their own.

Each day features a simple cooking or creation activity where children will practice following directions, measuring ingredients, making choices, and working together. From squeezing lemons for fresh lemonade to preparing mini pizzas, every activity is intentionally designed to promote confidence building and independence in a supportive setting.

✨ What your child will experience:

Hands-on cooking and creating (lemonade, orange sherbet, playdough, pancakes, and pizza)

Practice with real-life skills like measuring, sequencing, and clean-up routines

Opportunities to build independence through daily responsibilities and helper jobs

Creative projects like designing their own “dream room”

A small, nurturing group environment with personalized attention

This is not a typical camp—it’s a thoughtfully designed learning experience that blends academics, life skills, and creativity in a way that feels natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

💛 Our goal:

To help children feel capable, confident, and proud of the everyday skills that make them more independent.

Week 3 money and mini economy lesson plan for kids focusing on budgeting, saving, and smart spending.

Week 3: Money & Mini Economy

Where kids learn to earn, save, and spend with confidence during our engaging children summer program. This hands-on learning week introduces students to the basics of money in a way that is meaningful, practical, and fun. Through interactive activities and real-life simulations, children will explore how money works and begin developing healthy financial habits at an early age.

Throughout the week, students will:

Learn the difference between needs and wants

Practice budgeting and saving using simple, age-appropriate strategies

Make thoughtful spending decisions

Earn and manage classroom money through daily responsibilities

Collaborate to create and run their own mini shop

The highlight of the week is our Mini Market Day, where students apply everything they’ve learned by buying and selling in a student-run economy. This experience builds confidence, reinforces math skills, and encourages responsibility in a fun and memorable way.

Weekly cultural exploration plan focusing on different continents with activities for kids.

Week 4: Around the World

Culture • Exploration • Connection

Pack your bags—we’re traveling the world! ✈️🌎

During this exciting children summer program, kids will explore different countries and cultures through stories, maps, art, music, and food.

Each day, we “visit” a new part of the world, learning how people live, what they eat, the languages they speak, and what makes each place unique. Through hands-on learning activities and meaningful discussions, children begin to build confidence while understanding the beauty of diversity and gaining real-world knowledge.

From creating cultural art to tasting simple international snacks, this week is designed to spark curiosity, expand perspectives, and make learning feel like an adventure.

A colorful weekly nature and science activity schedule for kids with daily themes and experiments.

Week 5: Nature & Science

At Thinking Lab Learning, our Nature & Science Week is an exciting part of our children summer program, designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and help children learn through hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout the week, children become little scientists—observing the world around them, asking questions, and discovering answers through engaging hands-on experiments and real-life exploration. From measuring plants and planting seeds to testing reactions and exploring the outdoors, every activity is intentionally crafted to build confidence, critical thinking, and a love of learning.

This is not worksheet-based learning. Instead, children engage in meaningful, interactive experiences that connect science to their everyday world. They will explore nature, conduct simple experiments, and document their discoveries in their very own science journals.

With a small group setting, each child receives personalized guidance while still enjoying the collaboration and excitement of group discovery.

✨ What makes this week special:

- Hands-on science experiments every day

- Outdoor exploration and nature-based learning

- Development of observation and critical thinking skills

- A balance of structured learning and creative discovery

- A calm, home-based environment where curiosity is encouraged

This week is perfect for children who love to explore, build, question, and discover how the world works.

Week 6 Builders & Problem Solvers summer camp schedule with daily STEM activities and challenges.

WEEK 6: Builders & Problem Solvers

What happens when children are given real problems to solve instead of just directions to follow? They begin to think, design, test, and try again—and that’s exactly what this week is all about.

During our engaging children summer program, Builders & Problem Solvers Week, students step into the roles of engineers, designers, and creators. Through hands-on learning and STEM challenges, they will explore how things are made, experiment with shapes and structures, and work collaboratively to build, test, and improve their ideas.

Each day is intentionally designed to strengthen critical thinking while keeping learning active, engaging, and meaningful.

Your child will:

- Design and build their own inventions

- Explore which shapes and structures are strongest (and why)

- Engineer bridges, towers, and real-world creations

- Work in teams to solve fun, hands-on challenges

- Learn how to think through problems—not just get the answer

This is not worksheets or busy work—this is real learning through doing. In our small, supportive group setting, each child is encouraged to share ideas, take risks, and build confidence as a problem solver.

✨ By the end of the week, students won’t just build projects… they’ll build the confidence building mindset to tackle challenges independently.
